Department: General Factory

Reports To: Manufacturing Manager

Location:  Erie, PA on site

Pay Rate:  $ 19.75 per hour with comprehensive benefits package

Job Description/Job objectives-include, but not limited to the following:

 

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Receiving and inventory stocking from receipt
  • Purchase order receiving – record information on ERP system accurately and timely
  • Updating and maintaining bin locations on ERP system
  • Freight handling (incoming or outgoing)
  • Any secondary operations as instructed like blackening, shot blasting, roto-finish, deburring & salvage work.
  • Fill in on various machines, assist machinists to help load & unload machines and able to pack products. 
  • Material handling - Move material and product in and around the building.
  • Assist maintenance department in building, grounds (snow removal) and equipment maintenance. Clean and lubricate equipment as required. 
  • Housekeeping - trash on grounds and in-house, cleaning floors, and maintaining good general order. 

 

  • Performs regular duties with minimal supervision.
  • Achieves a reasonable personal daily output.
  • Reports machine or equipment repair requirements and quality problems to supervisor.
  • Fills out time slips and other necessary paperwork on a complete and timely basis.
  • Operates in a manner to promote the safety of self and other Reed employees.
  • Make suggestions for improvements and acts to help all Reed associates maximize profit sharing payouts over the long term.

 

Educational, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Several courses in machining practice.
  • Able to perform quality inspections on parts and products.
  • Several years of working in a manufacturing environment.

Continues learning to improve skills, to keep current with new equipment and methods and to be able to train other associates.

 

All employees must assist in housekeeping and ensure that their area is kept clean and orderly at all times.
